Christopher Mimnaugh, Lane Office Account Executive, Rappels for Charity

LONG ISLAND, NY – October 20, 2009 – Lane Office account executive Christopher Mimnaugh of Garden City, NY and 100 others donned helmets, harnesses and gloves and rappelled down 600 Old Country Road in Long Island, New York on Tuesday. The rappellers were participating in Over the Edge for Charity hosted by the National Foundation for Human Potential. The event raised money for Long Island residents with autism, mental retardation and other special needs.

Mr. Mimnaugh represented Lane Office, a full service furniture dealership located in New York City and the city’s exclusive DIRTT distributor. His colleagues at Lane Office contributed to his $1,500 fundraising goal, wishing him success and a safe trip down.

The windows of 600 Old Country Road reflected Tuesday’s blue skies as the rappellers made their way down the side of the building. Mimnaugh was fearless as he was strapped in. “I’m proud to support my community and this is a great opportunity for a new experience.”

After descending the vertical wall and landing safely on the ground he commented, “Rappelling requires focus; it also takes you out of your everyday thoughts, allowing you to see with a new perspective. I work with clients as they make real estate decisions, but this is a whole different way of looking at buildings!”

The event raised approximately $50,000 for the cause, which will be used to develop and encourage educational and support services for children and adults with different abilities through financial and other means of support.
